To Our Dearest Friends & Family,
This year has been one of the most challenging years that we have collectively faced on many fronts. So many things have changed, and large social gatherings cancelled. This includes our plan to host Derby for Drew III. Though life looks very different in 2020, some things must continue. One of those is the healthcare that our frontline heroes are providing to children. We want to keep Drew’s spirit alive by using this year’s delayed Kentucky Derby to continue our investment initiatives in supporting the UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center.
Our Derby for Drew II event in 2019 netted $44,500. A significant portion of these funds were invested into The Kid’s Comfort Promise, a program dedicated to minimizing the physical pain and emotional stress associated with needlesticks. This program has been highly successful and has been rolled out across all the departments of the UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center.
Over the past several years, an anonymous donor has provided additional funds to support our efforts. This year, this generous couple has agreed to match our fundraising efforts up to $12,000! Though we could not be together live this year for Derby for Drew III, please help to keep The Kid’s Comfort Promise moving forward with a gift at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/DrewsLegacy or by mailing your check to:

We are hopeful that 2021 will be a better year for all of us. To that end, we want to announce that we will plan to honor Drew's light and spirit by hosting Derby for Drew IV on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Haven Country Club in Boylston, MA.
So ladies, get your hats and fascinators ready, and gentlemen, straighten those bow ties as we have fun raising critical funds for a tremendous organization -- all in the name of one brave little boy! Your signature cocktail will await you as the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby is shown on large screens . Pick your pony and enjoy a dinner buffet, cash bar, lively music, decadent luxury raffle items and much, much more while raising money for the Andrew Paul Stevens Endowment Fund for the benefit of UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center.
